Sunrun Expands Residential Solar Service to More Californian Homes

published: 2015-05-07 14:01

California is the leading state in USA’s PV market. Sunrun, a U.S.-based residential solar company, announced to offer its solar services to more homeowners in California. Anaheim, Glendale, Palo Alto and Pasadena are the additional service targets, while Sunrun also expects to expand its service to homeowners serviced by municipal power companies in Lodi, Modesto, Riverside, and Roseville.

"With electricity rates in California consistently climbing over the past decade, it's no surprise Californians are looking for ways to lower their electric bills," said Ethan Miller, senior vice president of operations at Sunrun. "By expanding to more regions, Sunrun will be able to help more of the state's homeowners get solar and save money on their bills."

The cumulative residential solar capacity adopted by Californian homes accounts for more than 50% of all residential solar installation in the U.S., according to SEIA and GTM Research’s 2014 report. Sunrun aims to offer its services to more households in the state because the company is confident of further development and market availability in California.

As the first company to introduce solar as a service to American homeowners, Sunrun has reinvented the way people buy electricity. Sunrun gives homeowners access to the smartest energy source – sunlight – and takes care of everything so families can focus on more important things, like putting savings back in their pockets each month.
