SolarCity® is making its popular solar service available in New Hampshire for the first time. The company expands its service to the state for helping New Hampshire homeowners to go solar with no upfront cost and pay less for solar electricity than they pay for utility power, even without including local incentives. SolarCity will open an operations center in the Manchester area and plans to hire local workers.
SolarCity began taking orders from New Hampshire residents this week, and expects to begin installing its first customers in June. The company will accommodate customers on a first-come, first-served basis. SolarCity’s service will initially be available to customers of Public Service Co. of New Hampshire (PSNH) and Unitil Energy Systems. New Hampshire is the 17th state where SolarCity offers service and the third in New England, joining Massachusetts and Connecticut. New Hampshire homeowners supported by SolarCity can go solar for as little as $30 per month, with design, installation, financing, insurance, monitoring and a performance guarantee included.
