AllSun Solar Trackers Powering Commerce Center in Maine

Thirty dual-axis AllSun Trackers are now powering the offices and service buildings for The Loring Development Authority (LDA), site of the former Air Force in the northern Maine town of Limestone. The 200kW solar project will help offset the electrical bills of LDA.

The project at the redeveloped base utilized AllSun Trackers, which track the sun throughout the day to maximize energy production. The ground-mounted pre-engineered solar trackers are designed for residential and commercial-scale installations and are manufactured by AllEarth Renewables. The project was developed by The Power Company of Washington, Maine and installed by Maine Energy Performance Solutions.

AllSun Trackers produce over 30% more energy than fix ground-mounted systems and up to 45% more energy than rooftop systems per kilowatt installed.

“We were thrilled to not only source an American-made solar tracker for this project, but to have a solution that will produce more energy from the sun and give our customer greater long-term energy savings,” said Rich Simon of The Power Company.

In addition to the Vermont manufactured solar trackers, the project utilized American-made solar modules and was locally financed locally by Coastal Enterprises Inc. of Wiscasset, Maine.
