SolarCity is expanding its Maryland operations with a new 10,000 square foot Southern Maryland Operations Center in White Plains. Through its third operations center in Maryland, SolarCity makes it possible for more Maryland homeowners to install solar panels for free and pay less for solar electricity than they pay for electricity from the local utility, with design, installation, monitoring, insurance, and a performance guarantee included.
SolarCity currently has more than 50 open positions for the new facility and more than 100 open positions across the state. Open positions include installers, sales, electricians and engineers. The White Plains operations center represents SolarCity’s second major expansion in Maryland in the last six months—the company now employs more than 255 staff in the state, and more than 7,000 nationwide.
