Cenergy Power, together with Greenleaf-TNX, has completed construction of a 1.8 MW (DC) Cloverdale Solar project in Cloverdale, California. Greenleaf-TNX's Cloverdale system was designed, engineered and constructed by Cenergy Power. Cenergy will also provide ongoing operations and maintenance (O&M) services to the site.
This marks another successful PG&E Feed-In Tariff (FiT) solar project between Greenleaf and Cenergy Power. The site will sell the power generated by the Cloverdale Project to PG&E under a 20 year Power Purchase Agreement. The Cloverdale Project is designed to generate over 2.7 million kWh of energy annually, the equivalent of 6,000,000+ pounds of CO2.
Despite major obstacles with the wood landfill site in Sonoma County, the Cloverdale Project began construction in late 2013 and successfully achieved its "permission to operate" prior to an interconnection deadline in June 2014. "We were not allowed to grade the area or penetrate the landfill due to strict guidelines advanced by Sonoma County and the State of California," stated Andrew Goldin, Senior VP of Operations for Cenergy. "This added complexity to the Project's engineering and interconnection requirements, which was overcome with creative solutions and a great team effort between Cenergy and Greenleaf."
